...Higashikata... that's the guy with the over-the-top gangster hairstyle who flipped out at me over it, right?
I see. I'm glad I went to you about this. So this man is a threat and a pest and someone that others should keep an eye on. I had a feeling about something, but I didn't have anything concrete to back it up.
Indeed. Josuke Higashikata. He possesses one of these 'Stands,' as well. Though, from his commentary, I gather it was his grandfather who has actually faced Mr. Dio in proper battle.
He is most certainly a threat, and someone you should avoid until we sort out a means of handling him more effectively. I'm very sorry for the trouble, Ms. Mari. I know you were trying to help.
Don't be sorry! Someone had to ask him those questions. And it's not like I've never been in danger before. I used to act as a vigilante and fight crime in my spare time. Of course, most of whom I dealt with were normal humans - it wasn't until later on that monsters and aliens started showing up - but I'll be the first to tell you I'm not defenseless.
[Monty stares down at Mari's missive, brows furrowing. What? How had he missed that?]
I beg your pardon, Ms. Mari, but is this information you wish to keep between us? I don't recall you mentioning your particular talents, but perhaps I missed it.
Yes, please. I've been keeping it mostly a secret on purpose. I planned to reveal it eventually, but for now I'd like to keep it only known to a few in private.
Certainly, Ms. Mari. There is a network I have occasionally had reason to call upon about threats. Mr. Dio is not the only one to be wary of. Would you wish to be included in such a group, or prefer to receive individual missives directly, if needed?
[He can't believe he's asking this of a woman, but her experience does sound impressive. She's clever, as well, something he'd noted even before the matter with Dio. He certainly won't be asking her to put herself to the hazard like some, but having someone with special skills apprised of the situation would be helpful. Particularly one he would deem more trustworthy than others.
I would love to be included. I was hoping to get involved in enforcing any code of conduct that the group eventually decides on - the one I've seen others talk about in previous posts on the network.
If nothing else, being a part of this will help me protect myself and others by knowing who should be avoided. Thank you.
I shall include you in any missives moving forward. For the moment, you may wish to be aware that the altar in our settlement is something that has the power to strip people of their abilities (all abilities) for some 24 hours. I'll be announcing this to the group at large in my next update, but it may be considered something of a 'safe' zone for those who do not have extraordinary abilities. Belief may be limited there, but someone like Mr. Dio would also likely find himself limited.
The altar... is that in the shrine you have the directory listed by? I haven't been inside it before, but I don't remember seeing anything elsewhere that could count as an altar.
I will keep that in mind. Hopefully I won't need to make use of it.
I wonder how the group at large will react? A lot of us here are normal people, but I know there's at least a handful of those with powers.
Yes. I'm planning to move that, as you might imagine. There's some sort of orb set atop a slab. That would be the 'altar.' Coming within distance of it suppresses abilities. Actually touching the orb is what seems to take them away.
Several others were concerned with what people might do with the new knowledge. I suspect it will be treated much as the fog has been, though. A few... bold individuals traversing it and coming out the worse for wear in spite of warnings, followed by very few others following up with it.
We're still trying to sort out what might be done with it to make the best use. It can't be moved, at least, so that's one weapon and worry removed from the list of possibilities.

She is a lover of music, after all.]

I'll keep an eye out for your announcement.
